Mestre Film Fest – eighth edition
INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS COMPETITION
Candiani Cultural Centre
12/15 October 2005

The Mestre Film Fest confirms its reputation as an international
showcase of short films, keeping alive the interest in city cultural
production, especially by young talents, and the desire to expand to
an international dimension. In addition to Italy, with five short
films submitted by Venetian directors, the Festival will include works
from Bosnia, Greece, Great Britain, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and
Turkey.

The Selection Committee - made up of Elena Cardillo, Elisabetta Da
Lio, Roberto Ellero and Carlo Montanaro – reviewed the more than 200
short films submitted to the Short Stories section (a record in the
history of the Mestre festival) and admitted nearly thirty films into
the competition.

Held from 12 to 15 October 2005 at the Candiani Cultural Centre, the
eighth edition of the Mestre Film Fest is organized by the Videoteca
of Mestre (City Cinema Circuit and Candiani Cultural Centre),
Councillorship of Youth Policies of the City of Venice, the El Leon in
Moleca Cultural Association, and Cinit-Cineforum Italiano, with the
contribution of Boscarato Ristorazione and the sponsorship of
Trenitalia.
